We are already in mid September, however it still feels like August in Cyprus. This is no surprise. In my part of the world, September has always been..... the fourth summer month! This is why it is so hard for all primary and high school students to get up at 6:30 am and get ready for the first day at school after the summer break! Primary school here starts at 7:30 am and finishes at 1:10 pm. High school starts at 7:45 am and finishes at 1:30 pm. Soon after school, most children take up English, French or German, piano, swimming, football, computer, taekwodo or ballet lessons at private schools.
As you may realise, September is for me that time of year when- regardless of the weather - I go back to work and get ready for the new school year. However, at weekends, I still enjoy swimming in the sea. It's such an invigorating activity and I truly hope that the warm weather will be there in October! I hate autumn, anyway!
