Typepad - the best blogging platform in the world - has recently celebrated its 10th birthday. I felt like celebrating with them because for me, the Typepad team are like family. I first heard about Typepad at my hairdresser's while browsing the Greek version of Marie-Claire. That was back in the summer of 2004. In this magazine, there was an article about blogging followed by some of the world's best blogging platforms. This is how I found out what blogging was. A couple of weeks later, my friend Jeff suggested I try Typepad. In August 2004, I took the 30-day free trial and I was so excited that I didn't want to give it up. Pricing was affordable, so I thought it was worth signing up for $89 a year.
It took me a while to put theory into practice and learn how to blog. All I knew was that I loved writing even if I chose to write in English and not in Greek - my mother tongue. But, being computer illiterate, there were so many things I couldn't figure out, such as posting photos or videos, adding sidebar modules, finding a blog design and the list was endless. When I sent to Typepad my first help ticket, I didn't really expect a prompt reply - not to mention any reply at all! But I did get a prompt reply in layman's terms and realised that I was part of a great community, that I wasn't alone, that there were real people out there doing their best to help.
It was thanks to Typepad that I learnt to blog and grow with it. Typepad was just 14 months old when I joined in. When Typepad turned seven in June 2010, there was the great transition to the new Typepad. Not only did Typepad offer us a brand new interface with amazing tools at the Pro level, but the great Typepad team also saved our older posts automatically.10-year-old Typepad can now offer free blogging as well including some great tools for free - to mention only a few of their great advances!
Since 2010, Typepad has provided the one and only blogging platform on both Facebook and Twitter because your post appears on Facebook and / or Twitter - if you choose to do so - with all the great tools Typepad provides. What I love most is Typepad 101 on Everything Typepad and the html code they give us occasionally in order to enhance our blog. That's cool!
Thanks a million, Typepad! Blogging with you is a unique experience.
I also love writing. Now that I am retired, I need to spend more time blogging on here. I tend to be very verbose, so I need to learn to be more concise....but I just write what I feel or think at the time. I love it. Thank you, Anastasia, for introducing me to Typepad!!!!

I have created a microblog on Typepad where I post occasionally. I guess if I liked writing and had more free time, I'd upgrade my blog. I agree that their pricing is quite affordable. Having followed you on Typepad for a long time now, I must tell you once more how much I enjoy reading your posts. Keep blogging!

I once tried to blog on Blogger but all I managed to do was post some videos :-) Since high school, writing has never been my favorite subject! I am quite good at computers, though, but there is one thing on your blog I couldn't figure out. I have recently noticed that your handwritten signature appears at the end of your posts. It looks as if it was actually written in ... ink! How is that possible?

Reading your posts has always been a great pleasure. They're so heartfelt. I believe that personal blogging is all about writing what you feel or think at the time.

Thanks for being such a great friend, Lakis. I'll certainly keep blogging.

My signature is actually written out in ink.... That's part of the Typepad magic! ;-)

I would also like to thank you for introducing Typepad to me. Although I am quite confident with my English thanks to you, it still takes me a long time to think and write in English. I used to write in Greek on Blogger but I gave it up because I wasn't at all pleased with that blogging platform. I have a microblog on Typepad where I post articles about the world around us which I find interesting and like to share. I am very pleased with the microblog and the tools I get for free. I am not online often but whenever I am, I always read your beautiful blog which is one of my most favourite.
