It took Alkis almost three months to talk me into going walking with him along Mckenzie Beach which is only 5km away from home. On the one hand, there was the problem with my leg and on the other hand I love to sleep in on my short but precious summer break. I thought he was simply crazy to ask me to get up at 5:45 am every day. I like trying new things, though, so yesterday I said ok but... "would you please wake me up if I fall asleep on the sand? " His answer was: "You won't!"
When we got there, I was breathless! The most beautiful sunrise in Cyprus - and probably in the Eastern Med - was just next door! Only then did I realise what I've been missing all this time. Today I got up at 5:30 looking forward to walking along McKenzie Beach. I walked about 45 minutes at a slow pace right now as I'm following doctor's orders and covered 3,5 km. If you live in the area or nearby, get up early in the morning and take a walk along Mckenzie. You won't regret it!
Oh wow, so beautiful Anastasia.
I'm gonna try to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow and watch the sun rise over the water too :-)

Larnaca is only a short drive away from home, but it's been ages I haven't been there for pleasure. Your photos of the sunrise are so beautiful! I love going jogging at the seafront in Lemesos, ususally in the evening after work. Sometimes I just can't help taking a break and watching a great sunset.

I am an early riser - rain or shine - but I have never experienced such a great sunrise in Nicosia. I've been to Mckenzie many times and had a swim and then lunch at Zakos Fish Taverna but I have never been there so early in the morning. Sometimes, beauty is so close at hand! Such a pity we miss the glorious sight!

Surely, you must have enjoyed your morning walk while contemplating such a brilliant sunrise. Thanks for the great photos!

I wish I were as good a photographer as you are, Anastasia, to capture the sunrise as I experienced it while fishing in Sifnos.

One of the many memories I cherish from Cyprus is its gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.

I can't imagine anything more invigorating than an early morning walk at the beach and a glorious sunrise.

I have become a bit lazy these days - a coach potato actually! I haven't been anywhere this summer, but reading your blog felt like taking a virtual vacation in beautiful Larnaca. I promised myself to go back to gym in september! Filakia!!!
