So, another school year has come to an end. Funny how I feel sad and already look forward to the new school year beginning in September. I guess this is not normal but I know in my heart of hearts that I'm going to miss my kids for the next two and a half months. I've been jam-packed with work lately, having to mark exam papers, type Final Reports in addition to extra classes for the students who enrolled to the Cambridge ESOL Examinations. English Today.my online course of English as a second language - will be breaking up for the summer soon.
I still can't believe I'm on holiday for the next two months. All I know is that I'm going to make the most of my summer break. I'm going to read books, that's for sure and, perhaps, publish my book on T.S.Eliot on TypePad. Considering that during the school year I work from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, I'm certainly going to hang out with my girl friends for a coffee at Finicoudes, go out with Alkis more often, cook his favourite dishes , such as Beef Stroganov. And I'm going to take a holiday, as always somewhere in the Greek Isles. I can't imagine spending a summer holiday anywhere else. I've been fascinated by the Greek Islands since I was a little girl and to this day I still think they are magical.
I'll love you and leave you with one of my most favourite songs. Hope you enjoy it!
So glad you are finally on break. I miss my kids but I do not miss the job. I know next year is going to be difficult and I am not looking forward to it at all. Early retirement and being with Mesut is looking better and better Enjoy your holidays. Be safe! Enjoy your husband and love him totally. I wish I was with mine. xo

Best of luck to your students in their exams. I know you work very hard, so now just take the time to get a good rest and enjoy yourself. I wish I had a long break in summer, but right now I feel lucky to have a job.

I sometimes wish I could take a holiday in September or October. It's much quieter and in Cyprus it's still warm enough to swim.

Doctor says you're workaholic! Forget about the kids and the school and take the time to relax and have fun. Treatment includes swimming, doing nothing, eating out, listening to Tom Jones, and stir clear of the hot sun!!! Filakia!

I'll certainly follow doctor's orders!! :-) Wishing you and Taylor a great summer holiday.

The weather has been terrible here in Manchester and I can't wait to get some sun and...more sun in Cyprus. We'll be back for three weeks in August.

Lucky you! I've got to drive 55 km to get there!
Posted by: Lakis Ioannou | June 24, 2012 at 11:19 PM
Not that far anyway. Considering the high temps in Nicosia, it's worth the drive.

This summer, I have booked a 2-weeek holiday in Hokkaido - one of our best summer resorts. I will be staying in Asahikawa which is the central city of the northern part of Hokkaido. There is an international airport with more than one million travelers every year. And tourists from home and abroad go to Hokkaido one after another every year. The average temperature in Asahikawa during July and August is 20 degree Celsius. Although the highest temperature in the daytime may surpass 30 degree Celsius, humidity is not high. Overall, people feel comfortable during the day. When it comes to night, the average temperature is about 15 degree Celsius, which is very suitable for sleep. All I want is just relax, go hiking and swimming, go sightseeing and do some reading. Have a great summer vacation!

Oh, I would like to add that I really loved the song. I have never heard of Tom Jones before. Is he American?
Posted by: Haruko N | June 25, 2012 at 01:16 PM
You do deserve the greatest summer holiday ever and I'm sure you'll have a great time in Hokkaido. By the way, here in Cyprus Hokkaido is the name of my favourite Japanese restaurant! To be honest, I didn't know it was a holiday resort in Japan! What does Hokkaido mean in Japanese?
Posted by: Anastasia | June 25, 2012 at 01:43 PM
No, Tom Jones isn't American. He is an Englishman born in South Wales. On 4 June 2012, Jones performed at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert in front of Buckingham Palace, singing "Delilah" and "Mama Told Me Not to Come" I think he should have sung "Green Green Grass of Home", too. Tom Jones became an international star in the 1960s and 1970s.
