Here I am relaxing at home after a hectic week at work. It's that time of year again when esl exams are round the corner in addition to preparing school exams and organising the new school-year 2012-2013. I was a bit under the weather today and please pray I don't get that nasty virus which has been around recently. The weather has been playing up again! We had some warm, sunny days end of April which gave way to a cloudy and rainy early May while today temps went up to 26C! Honestly, I don't know what to wear! See why I hate spring? Wearing jeans and T-shirts plus a jacket seems to be the best option while looking forward to our long, hot summer. My summer break starts on June 23 - not that far - so I can dream of my summer holiday in July and plan it with Alkis. I dream of unspoilt beaches and lazy days in the sun, secluded coves and ....astakomakaronada (lobster pasta) by the sea. But right now, I'll love you and leave you and go back to marking my students' IGCSE Mock Examination.
I totally understand about how hectic this time of year is.....grades, cleaning and packing my room, and amidst all that, Thursday I am being observed by the new principal. I am not afraid of the observation....I know how to teach.... I just want to do a good job. I am scared of how "unafraid" I am of it. Usually I am panicking by now. I am praying for your health..believe me, I understand not wanting to be ill (again). My kids are all sickly, some even with strep. I've never seen so many sneezing, blowing, and hacking children.
I wish I could join you on the sunny beaches summer...and I am 5 miles away from sunny beaches but they certainly do not look like the ones you have there.
Good luck with the end of the school year. I retire in 2015...I CAN DO THIS!!!

ps...love the lounging pj's. I remember the first time we ever saw each other online...you were in Tweety Bird night shirt. I loved how casual you were! Still do...but love you more, my dear friend.

Well...when I relax at home...I love my pyjamas!!! Ah well! I hear Florida has some of the world's greatest beaches! I share your feelings of being observed by the principal. I've been through that myself when I worked for the American Academy and had been observed by the principal many times. I was lucky to have a great boss back then - Mr Watson, an Englishman. He was the greatest boss I've ever had before I became my own boss! But then again, being your own boss involves a lot of responsibility and endless hours at the workplace. I turned down a post at the public schools but I've never regretted it.

We had a bright weekend here in Lemesos, a bit windy but sunny and warm. After my morning jog at the seafront, we went to Platres. It is still a bit chilly in the mountains but we enjoyed the fresh air and hiking...and a big lunch after that! Hope you are feeling better today.

Although I love the winter, I'm glad summer is here at last! I didn't do anything special this weekend - had to tidy up the winter clothes and prepare the summer ones. Yesterday, we had lunch at the seafront which was quite relaxing.

Buonasera Anastasia. A teacher's work is never end. Also, I had to work a lot on the weekend to mark my students art projects. I also look forward for the summer vacation. Here school finish in June 18. Have a great week ahead my dear friend.

I've been very busy at work as well, Anastasia. In these financially hard days, I just feel lucky to have a job. Unemployment has almost doubled in the UK since 2010. I wish I could afford a summer holiday somewhere warm and sunny.
