Alkis and I would usually spend Valentine's Day somewhere special. But this year we both had a long day at work, so we celebrated Saint Valentine's Day at home. After all, home is as special as any place can be.. It was 9:30 pm when I got back home from work. Alkis said he was starving but , nevertheless, greeted me with a red rose and a glass of champagne....despite the football match on TV - APOEL-LYON. As the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, I made my famous Beef Stroganof - Alkis's favourite dish! For starters, I made what I call "Love Nest" - a pastry pouch filled with French cheeses and smoked ham served with a great French red: Chateauneuf du Pape - Les Cadres. For dessert, we had some Valentine's Chocolate Heart bought at Zorbas Bakeries.
Many people don't believe in Valentine's Day but we do. Alkis and I believe that Love should be celebrated on a special day while enjoyed throughout the year - just like we shouldn't thank our loved ones on Thanksgiving Day only or thank God on Christmas Day only. Right? To me, love is turning an ordinary day into a party for two and celebrating it on a special day.
What is your definition of love?
That is what love is all about! Happy belated valentines!

To me love is the most essential ingredient of life: without it life is meaningless and empty.

Love is listening, enlightenment, intimacy, romance, trust, respect.

As Alexia said, love is the essence of life. It is the driving force that leads to fulfilment.

Be together, share your joy and sorrow, understand each other, provide space to each other, but always be there for each other's need.

Love isn't blind or deaf or dumb - in fact it sees far more than it will ever tell. It is going beyond yourself and stretching who you are for someone else. Being in love entails seeing someone as you wish they were: to love them is to see who they really are and still care for them. Love isn't bitter, but you can't have love without pain: sacrifice is the hallmark of love , the coin of love.

Love is not a feeling, it's an act of will.

For me love is first loving and respecting yourself in order to love and respect your partner. Love your dress!!!

I am so glad to see that you had a great Valentines Day, Anastasia! I agree with you. Like many other things in our life, like birthdays, wedding anniversaries, baptiskms, love must to be celebrated on a special day and experienced every day. because love is a blessing.

Love is the touch on your cheek or feeling the breath of a whisper on your neck while being on 2 different continents. I was recuperating from surgery the day prior but still received a phone call to wish me a Happy Walentina's Day and given a verbal promise of love and "never leaving my hands". It has been this way for 6 yrs and will be forever. I am blessed!

Love means that you trust the person, would do anything for the person, know that person is with you through thick and thin, isn't afraid to be seen with you, make sure they treat you right.

Lovely lady in red! Love is not having to say "lets make love" cos u know what the other person wants.
Posted by: Mrkmakth | February 19, 2012 at 10:30 PM
Love has to do with how you treat the person you care about. Creating a close, loving relationship is not actually so difficult to understand! How to do it can be learned. In fact, it has to be learned by everyone who knows how to sanctify their relationship rather than pollute it.
