To be honest I prefer "silver-white winters that melt into spring", yet neither winter nor spring are my favourite seasons. One reason I hate winter is because I hate to be cold. Believe it or not, on the otherwise sunsplashed island of Cyprus, it was 5*C today at 8:00 am despite the sunshine! Ah well, at least the sun was there to promise that spring is on the way . Ahhh, that's even worse! I also hate spring. As a matter of fact it's my least favourite season due to my hay fever! No, I won't take medication!
Yet, there are a few things I love about winter...such as:
Roasting chestuts at home
Troodos Vs Saint Moritz
Warm woolen mittens which I've been using quite a lot recently
And then there's Valentine's Day followed by Green Monday and Alkis' birthday to look forward to.
I have only been to Troodos once and that was in the summer. So I can't really compare to Saint Moritz! But I still remember all that green, the unspoilt forests and nature's paths. Thanks for teaching Taylor how to roast chestnuts at the fireplace. Wishing you and Alkis a great weekend.

Hello roasting chestnuts, oak, potato, garlic, onion, warming the bread, drinking a glass of home made wine. All will be good and easy to do at a fire place.I even roast beef and chicken cause there is no problem for the smell to go with the smoke.
Each season of the year got it's own goodness Spring is the new life.
Summer is the harvest and the stocking of what ever mankind needs for winter.
Aotom.Fall season is for planting and for making the sleeping time ready for plants.Doing its organic fertilizers from its own leaves.
Winter is the rainy snowy season to fill the wells and the water underground beds with water .The cold and the snow are for killing germs and bad bacteria.
My favorite season is fall.promising every one that life will come back after the winter. It is the promise of life which will come after death.Wish you a cozy night by the fire place this weekend and always the best of luck.God Bless.
With Love walid.

You are right, Walid. Every season has its unique beauties but my favourite one is summer because I am in love with the sea and the unique beauty of the Greek islands.

I also enjoy spending time by a glowing fire on cold winter nights. Give me a glass of red wine, a good book and.... Rachmaninov at the background and I feel the happiest person on earth!
