I'm brand new to blog and TypePad...Hope I'm doing fine . It's been a quiet day ....my last leisure Saturday before lessons start on Monday. And it's going to be hectic then ! I do hope I'm going to make time daily to drop a line in here ...Anyway, I'm not sure how it works and I'd greatly appreciate tips and advice from advanced users . I'm having an evening out tonight with my husband and some friends. Fine dining and then probably a bar or cafe....tragic day to start a weblog , isn't it ???
That was my first blog ever! New to TypePad and new to the blogsphere. I didn't post a photo because I didn't know how! TypePad was one year old then - just a baby! And I was looking for a safe place to blog from. My friend Jeff had suggested me trying TypePad. Well, first I took the 30-day free trial and was so excited! Then I registered and signed up for a relatively low cost - $89 yearly but I could have all the great tools offered exclusively by the baby TypePad in 2004.
But like all babies, TypePad grew up fast! Despite the fact that I joined Yahoo!360 one year later, I didn't have the heart to give up on.... toddler TypePad. As I have recently said on a recent post on My Blogging Experience, TypePad was something like my online hiding-place. As for the great TypePad team, they'd go out of their way to help within 24 hours!
While celebrating my 500th post on TypePad, please let me thnak from the bottom of my heart TypePad and Six Apart for this wonderful blogging experience, which is I think unique in the blogsphere and is great value for money.. But I would also like to thank the cool staff from Help Tickets who really did their very best to solve my problems.... within 24 hours!
Thanks a million !
Zalary
Brianna
Kymberlie
Melanie
Laura
Colleen
Melissa
...and please forgive me if I've forgotten someone....
I would also like to thank from the bottom of my heart Ginevra and everything she does to make this blogging experience even greater!
Last but not least, thanks all those of you who visit and /or comment. It's greatly appreciated.
The Coolest TypePad Feature (ah right! TypePad is 6 years old now!!!)
The auto-saved post! Did your computer freeze all of a sudden while typing a post? Did your computer crush? Did you need to leave your post box and search something..on google let's say? Believe me you haven't lost your post ...it's been autosaved while you were wandering online! Once back, you choose create a post and then you are asked whether you would like to recover your auto-saved post! As we say in French : Chapeau TypePad! The 6-year-old kid has turned into a brand new Harry Potter! Thank you TypePad and Six Apart for this unique online experience! Efcharisto!
I once said that you are a charismatic person - one in a million! And I feel like repeating it here on Typepad although I'm not a member here -I'm on Blogger. Why do I say that again? Because very few bloggers would ever bother to thank the website that hosts their blogs.Let alone thank publically a website which isn't free. You could have said something like "I pay them and they have to provide for me the very best!" But you haven't. You have thanked them by name even. This is YOU - ONE in hundred millions bloggers. But you make the difference. I had never read your first blog and thanks for reposting it. It was a bit clumsy but it was what you felt at that time. And whoever believes that commenting should occur within someone's blog host, I think that person is either naive or simply an idiot! Although I am not a typepad member, I was allowed very fast and very easily to register and comment here. Sugar, I wish you to celebrate your 5000th blog! I guess Typepad would be an old person by then! No hard feelings!

Yes, it was a tragic day to start a weblog but you have offered your friends so much even those like Lakis who are not on TypePad. I want to congratulate you for the 500 posts on what is in my upinion the best blogging site. I also love the auto save posts but for me the best feature is the option to password protect your site. This is a very good value for money.

Although we've known each other online for a few years now, I had never before read your first blog ever. I wouldn't say it was awkward. I'd say it was transparent - just like you. You were real and honest right from the start and I think that counts a lot in blogging. I would also like to thank you for your great contributions on my blog. You have opened a new way to blogging which goes beyond websites, as most people for some reason stick to the friends of their website - whether this is Blogger, Typepad, Wordpress, Live Journal and so on. Continue to enrich the blogsphere with your wonderful posts ~ Hugs

Laki mou, thank you very much for your kind words and for being a loyal friend for such a long time. I firmly believe that bloggers should interact despite the site that hosts their blogs. Unfortunately few of them do. And that's such a pity. I offer my readers the option to comment IF they like and AS they like. And yes , of course, I felt the need to thank all those people from TypePad who helped me in the blink of an eye. Whether it was a music playing on my blog which I couldn't understand where it was coming from! (a slide show!)or recently the fact that my edited biography had disappeared from my about page due to some problem, they were all there to help me solve the problem. And they did keep me informed all the time and apologised for taking them 2 days to fix the problem! Where else on the blogsphere can I find this human, personilised help? Hmm...5000 blogs? I don't think so! I'll be older than TypePad by then !

Thanks Jeff. I guess you are the one I should thank first. If you hadn't told me about TypePad, I wouldn't be celebrating 500 posts now!

Thank you Haruko. I agree that TypePad offers all options. And I can't wait to see the new features! I agree, it's a very good value for money if you want blogging to be a real pleasure all the time. I also like the way TypePad Connect promotes a real conversation amongst commenters. This hardly ever happens on other blog sites.

First of all I would like to thank you for being the greatest guest author ever and for saving my Cypria blog from...delete. Unfortunately, most bloggers are unable to interact with other bloggers from other blogsites. I\ve never figured out the reason why! Does friendship depend on where you blog from ? TypePad Connect has proved quite the opposite and may many other sites follow this example. To me online friendship does not depend on where you blog from.

Well, I didn't know you then Walid. And that's one of the strangest coincidences in my life. September 11 - your birthday! No wonder, you are my lucky star on TypePad!
