Now that I'm off work due to our Easter break, I have some more free time to surf the Net and learn things. To my surprise, I found out about the dispute between Typepad and Blogger. When my friend Constantinos invited me to contribute to his blog on Blogger as a guest author, I had second thoughts as the site was completely unknown to me and , most importantly, I didn't know Constantinos' reading public. Finally, I decided to give it a try and accepted Constantinos' invitation. So, I started exploring Blogger and found it very similar to Typepad. Now don't ask me who copied who, I really do not know. All I know is that you can have a unique blog experience on Typepad for only $4,95 a month. No other blogging site has ever offered so many tools online and such a great service.
WHY BLOGGER
1. It's free!
2. You can still come across a lot of drama if that interests you!
3. You can follow a blog easily with userpics as well.
4. You can have all the benefits of Google Reader
5. You can have all the benefits of a super Google profile!
WHY TYPEPAD
1. For a very small fee ($4.95 monthly) you can have the blog of your dreams and great tools!
2. You can make money.
3. You can advertise your business...or just blog for pleasure!
4. No need to host your photos on sites such as Picasa, Flickr or Photobucket in order to post them on your blogs. Typepad provides a built-in image uploader so that you can upload photos directly from your computer. Same goes for audio files.
5. No other site has such a cool comment section like Typepad Connect which is free! I hesitated a lot to join Typepad Connect because it's still beta but so far there has been NO PROBLEM ! I can reply to my friends' comments individually whenever I am online. Threaded comments are great on Typepad.
6. People can subscribe to comments and follow the thread through their mobile phone, I can post through my email anytime, anywhere- no need to log in.
So, tell me , what's your most or least favourite blogging site ?
I have been on Blogger since November 2008 and I like the site very much. The main reason why I like it is because it offers a lot of easy tools which make blogging a real fun while it is free at the same time.

Six Apart Typepad.com is a paid blogging service, so it's not surprising that it offers more features than Google Blogger, which is free. That's not to say that TypePad.com is expensive. TypePad Basic service, for one individual, starts at a reasonable US$4.95 per month, while TypePad Pro service, allowing multiple authors, costs US$14.95 per month. If you're ready for serious yet easy blogging, it doesn't get much better than Six Apart TypePad.
TypePad's setup is easy and quick. To create a new account, simply choose a username and password, then add your billing information. Next, you'll need to decide how you want your blog to look and pick from nine layouts and six styles. Finally, you must choose whether you want your blog to be public (anyone can read it), private (only you can read it), or password protected (anyone who has the password can read it). That's it.
Once you understand TypePad's tabbed interface, you'll start to have fun playing with all its features. If, for example, you want to create your own personal photo album or lists of favourite people, books, Web sites, or music, TypePad makes these tasks easy to accomplish, providing appropriate templates and buttons. TypePad offers more custom tools than Blogger, such as mixed-media templates, built-in photo uploading and guest accounts.
Yet for all its ease of use, I do wish there were an easier way to integrate a TypePad blog into a personal domain name, something Blogger does with ease. To do this within TypePad, you must enable domain-name mapping, a process of pointing your domain to TypePad.com, which requires some tinkering with TypePad and your Web host. Blogger makes it easy to publish via file transfer protocol to your own Web site. Both Blogger and TypePad allow for RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds for your online content.

As your guest author on your Cypria blog, Anastasia, I have been enjoying the experience for free very much. However a guest author is quite restricted on Typepad unlike Blogger where contributors (guest authors) are treated as co-owners of the blog and can do practically all the actions the owner can do. On Typepad as a guest author I don't have access to publishing my blog ON a certain date. I would like to schedule a post on Typepad to be published on a certain day and time when I have some extra time. So I have to use your password and code name to do that. And I do thank you for trusting me. Yet, if a Typepad blog owner doesn't trust his/her guest author with password and user name, the guest author can't do much.

For a casual blogger like myself Blogger is great.

Many people think that Typepad is only for advertise your business. But this is wrong. I am on Typepad for 3 years and I love it because it is the only blogsite where I feel safe and where I can password protect my personal blog. I also like the new layouts and designs they have added, the built-in image uploader and most important the great customer service when you have a problem. They provide solutions to your problem in 24 hours and they will not leave you until they find the solution. All this and many more for a small amount of money.

I've been on multiply for quite some time now, but I don't feel happy there, so I'm considering moving to Blogger. I think that for a free site it offers a lot of cool tools.

6. Most importantly: it offers unique spam prevention and comment control.

I wouldn't change livejournal for any other blogsite. It's my favorite! My least favorite site? My Space!
