Paphos is the south-western corner of Cyprus and by nature is separated from the rest of the island by mountains. The main connection with the other towns is by motorway. The system provides swift, comfortable travel between all the major towns. It is worth noting that the old coast road to Limassol goes inland from the Rock of Aphrodite (Petra tou Romiou) and then climbs up a steep mountain resembling a scene from a western film, is far more beautiful and interesting than the motorway. The modern town of Paphos is a delightful port city with great sunsets, great food and crystal-clear blue waters.
