Skiathos, the most cosmopolitan and best known of the Northern Sporades, is an island that has been endowed by nature as have few others; it has also been blessed by the people who live on it. Its position - remote from the bustling tourism of the central Aegean, has protected the island's unique character. The vegetation that covers the entire island with pine forests, such as the one at Aradias, and countless olive groves, vineyards and other crops, gives it a unique colour, as the greenery extends as far as the shore where it touches the crystal waters of the beaches round the island , each one different. Here in Skiathos , the power of sea and time have created works of unique beauty, especially on the northern coasts of the island, carving out caves, and sculpting rocks and coves that are a source of delight to its many visitors whether they are from other parts of Greece or from abroad. At every moment of the day, the golden touch of the glorious Greek sun on the transparent waters of the Aegean Sea creates an eye-catching kaleidoscope of colour and light. I did my very best as an amateur photographer to caprure this magic beauty ...only to be found in Skiathos ...together with many other personal photos.
