The Lighthouse has been the emblem of the town since 1880.

Unspoilt sandy beaches and amazingly clear waters are just a short walk away from the town centre.

Yialos Taverna - perfect for a romantic dinner by the sea under an almost full moon.

If you are on diet...don't visit Alexandroupolis! One of the many local dishes: the Thracian Sausage

 

....and ouzomeze for starters - a variety of hors d'oeuvres  (tidbits) served with ouzo or tsipouro

The Sunset from Home

It It was a cold and rather windy day. 16*C is cold to me! I was surfing the Net when I looked out the window and saw this amazing sight:

I'm not really a mountain lover, however Platres is one of my most favourite weekend getaways - especially in summer and spring.

Paphian Sunset

Photography has always been one of my favourite hobbies. There was a time when I was so much into it that I wanted to be a photographer. Sunsets appeal to me more than any other topic, so whether I travel or not, I like to captrure the moment when the sun sets marking the end of yet another day. I think there is something divine in the explosion of colours. So in the next few blogs I'll be posting some of what I consider my best snapshots of sunsets.
