Typepad - the best blogging platform in the world - has recently celebrated its 10th birthday. I felt like celebrating with them because for me, the Typepad team are like family. I first heard about Typepad at my hairdresser's while browsing the Greek version of Marie-Claire. That was back in the summer of 2004. In this magazine, there was an article about blogging followed by some of the world's best blogging platforms. This is how I found out what blogging was. A couple of weeks later, my friend Jeff suggested I try Typepad. In August 2004, I took the 30-day free trial and I was so excited that I didn't want to give it up. Pricing was affordable, so I thought it was worth signing up for $89 a year.
It took me a while to put theory into practice and learn how to blog. All I knew was that I loved writing even if I chose to write in English and not in Greek - my mother tongue. But, being computer illiterate, there were so many things I couldn't figure out, such as posting photos or videos, adding sidebar modules, finding a blog design and the list was endless. When I sent to Typepad my first help ticket, I didn't really expect a prompt reply - not to mention any reply at all! But I did get a prompt reply in layman's terms and realised that I was part of a great community, that I wasn't alone, that there were real people out there doing their best to help.
It was thanks to Typepad that I learnt to blog and grow with it. Typepad was just 14 months old when I joined in. When Typepad turned seven in June 2010, there was the great transition to the new Typepad. Not only did Typepad offer us a brand new interface with amazing tools at the Pro level, but the great Typepad team also saved our older posts automatically.10-year-old Typepad can now offer free blogging as well including some great tools for free - to mention only a few of their great advances!
Since 2010, Typepad has provided the one and only blogging platform on both Facebook and Twitter because your post appears on Facebook and / or Twitter - if you choose to do so - with all the great tools Typepad provides. What I love most is Typepad 101 on Everything Typepad and the html code they give us occasionally in order to enhance our blog. That's cool!
Thanks a million, Typepad! Blogging with you is a unique experience.
